Korea swelters in blistering temperatures as the summer monsoon front weakens temporarily.
The Korea Meteorological Administration on Monday issued heat wave alerts across most of the country.
Daytime temperatures are expected to rise above 32 degrees Celsius throughout this week while humidity remains high and makes it feel even hotter. Temperatures will remain above 25 degrees all night.
The scorching temperatures stem from a humid North Pacific high-pressure front hovering over the Korean Peninsula and encountering a dry Tibetan high-pressure front.
Scorching temperatures and tropical nights are becoming more frequent in Korea due to global warming.
