The government is considering freeing fully vaccinated people from a ban on gatherings of five or more people. At present, the government only waives self-quarantine rules and lockdown applies even to fully vaccinated people.

Interior and Safety Minister Jeon Hae-cheol said in a recent interview, "We proposed an incentive to people to get their vaccine shots. We need to consider a waiver of the ban on gatherings of five or more people or eased restrictions on operating hours for small-business owners as they are directly related to their livelihood."

But the proposal has yet to be reviewed. An official at the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said nothing has been decided.
