Early voting in the mayoral by-elections in Seoul and Busan will take place on April 2 and 3 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at any polling station regardless of people's registered address.
There will be 424 polling stations for early voting in Seoul, 205 in Busan, 16 in Ulsan, seven in Gyeonggi Province, 11 in North Chungcheong Province, four in South Chungcheong Province, four in North Jeolla Province, 23 in South Jeolla Province and 28 in South Gyeongsang Province.
There will also be five separate polling stations in Seoul and one in Busan for people with coronavirus.
A staffer with a pollster said, "It looks like both the ruling and opposition parties will go all out to woo voters ahead of early voting and the atmosphere has changed considerably compared to just a year ago. The election will take place on a weekday and people are very enthusiastic about casting early votes, while voters in their 20s and 30s, whose sentiments have shifted, will be a key variable."
