North Korea will receive AstraZeneca's coronavirus vaccines through the WHO-led COVAX Facility.
The global vaccine mechanism announced on Tuesday that it will provide 1.7 million doses of the vaccine -- enough to inoculate more than 850,000 people -- to the impoverished country by the end of May.
It has vowed to provide more than 248 million doses of vaccines from AstraZeneca and Pfizer to a total of 142 countries during the same period.
South Korea will receive some 2.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 117,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
