The Asian Development Bank on Monday appointed Korea's Um Woo-chong as its managing director general.
Um is the Philippines-based organization's first Korean managing director general in 15 years. Lee Young-hoi held the position from 2003 to 2006.
Um currently assists the bank's president in instituting the bank's conferences on key initiatives. Since joining the bank in 1993, Um has served as secretary and director general.
