Park Joo-mi and Lee Tae-gon co-star in a new TV series slated to begin airing on TV Chosun on Saturday.
Park and Lee both said they jumped at the chance to appear in "Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)," as it is scripted by Im Sung-han, many of whose works have become mega hits despite their controversial subject matter.
They expressed excitement about the drama, which takes a look into life and love through married couples.
"I think anybody can relate to stories about married life, and our drama will prompt many conversations about it," Park said.
Park plays a famous radio show producer, while Lee plays a psychiatrist. They appear as a seemingly "perfect couple" in their 40s with a 12-year-old daughter.
The new series is Lee's first TV project in seven years, since "One Well-Raised Daughter" in 2013.
For Park, who debuted in 1992, it is her first leading role since "The Flower in Prison" in 2016.
It revolves around three married women -- one each in her 30s, 40s and 50s -- who struggle to sustain true love while facing unexpected setbacks in life.
The series will also air in 190 countries on Netflix simultaneously with the Korean broadcast. It remains to be seen whether it will resonate with global viewers of K-dramas, which are enjoying great popularity in other parts of the world.
