LG on Tuesday offered a first glimpse of its Rollable smartphone whose rectangular screen can be extended upwards.
In the 5-second video clip shown during an online session at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show on Monday, a user holds the phone as its screen rises about 5 cm as if by magic, increasing the 6.8-inch screen to 7.4 inches. The screen then shrinks back to its original size.
LG will properly unveil the new phone at a separate event sometime in the first half of this year.
China's OPPO unveiled a similar handset last November, but LG's is expected to hit the stores first.
IT website Phone Arena predicted that the phone will make its international debut in March.
