President Moon Jae-in said Monday that the government will provide all Koreans with free coronavirus vaccines starting next month.
"We will make sure that all Korean people will be inoculated free of charge in accordance with priorities," he said in his New Year's address at Cheong Wa Dae.
Moon also apologized for difficulties due to soaring home prices and pledged to come up with "various measures" to supply new housing.
As for diplomatic affairs, he said the government will further strengthen Korea's alliance with the U.S. as President-Elect Joe Biden is being inaugurated next week, and work with him to restore dialogue with North Korea.
Moon did not mention the issue of pardons for disgraced ex-presidents Park Geun-hye and Lee Myung-bak, which had been suggested in his own ranks but swiftly drowned in controversy.
