Actress Youn Yuh-jung won another award for her supporting role in "Minari" from the Oklahoma Film Critics Circle on Wednesday. The film was also named the Best Picture.

Just two days earlier, Youn earned the same award from the North Carolina Film Critics Association, taking to seven the number of gongs she has been presented so far by U.S. film critics associations such as the Sunset Film Circle, the Boston Society of Film Critics, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the Greater Western New York Film Critics Association and the Alliance of Women Film Journalists.

The film's successful award-season run is boosting hopes that it will follow in the footsteps of director Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" and claim an award at the upcoming Oscars in late April. "Parasite" won multiple gongs at last year's Academy Awards.

Directed by Korean-American director Lee Isaac Chung, the film tells his autobiographical story of a Korean family who move to the U.S. in the 1980s and their struggles to settle in a small town in Arkansas. Youn plays the eccentric grandmother in the family.

The film is scheduled for release here in the first half of this year.
