The Korea Composite Stock Price Index closed at a new all-time high on Wednesday, the last trading day of the year.
The KOSPI rose almost 1.9 percent to close at 2,873.47 points. It was the fourth record close in a row. The junior Kosdaq also rose 1.15 percent to 968.42.

This year the KOSPI soared 30.75 percent and the Kosdaq even more by almost 45 percent amid an unprecedented bumper year for international bourses.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 Index rose 6.56 percent and 15.52 percent. The tech-heavy Nasdaq also soared 43.44 percent.
