Actress Youn Yuh-jung won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in "Minari" from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association on Sunday.

It is Youn's third honor for the role. Earlier this month she received the Best Supporting Actress gongs at the Sunset Film Circle Awards and the Boston Society of Film Critics Awards.

She has also been nominated for awards by the Chicago Film Critics Association and the Florida Film Critics Circle.

The strong critical reception has raised hopes that she could be in contention for an Oscar next year. The Oscar nominees will be announced on March 15, ahead of the ceremony on April 25.

Directed by Korean-American director Lee Isaac Chung, the film tells the story of a Korean family who move to the U.S. in the 1980s and their struggles to settle in a small town in Arkansas.
