Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur scored his 11th goal of the season in the English Premier League on Wednesday, but couldn't prevent his team's 2-1 loss to Liverpool.
He is now tied for top scorer with Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, who scored the opening goal in Wednesday's game, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton.
With his team down 1-0 in the away match, Son equalized in the 33rd minute off a right-footed shot after receiving a through pass from Giovani Lo Celso and dribbling inside the penalty area. The goal required a video review but was ruled onside.
It was Son's 99th goal in 249 matches since joining Spurs in August 2015. So far this season, he has scored 14 goals and posted seven assists in all competitions including the UEFA Europa League.
He was replaced by Dele Alli in the 87th minute. Tottenham allowed another goal three minutes later, bringing its first loss in 12 matches, the previous defeat coming in its season opener.
With the loss, Tottenham (25 points from seven wins, four draws and two losses) conceded first place to Liverpool (28 points from eight wins, four draws and one loss) in the EPL table.
