Training for this year's military reserve forces will be scaled back due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The Defense Ministry said Wednesday that individuals will go through just four hours of one training session either in the morning or in the afternoon.

Training for the country's 2 million reserve forces will resume from September. It was supposed to kick off in March, but has been delayed multiple times due to the virus this year. This is the first time since 1968 that training hours for reserve forces have been altered.

All males who have completed their mandatory military service are required to go through one to three days of annual training for six years following their discharge.
