Samsung placed eighth on Forbes' list of the World's Most Valuable Brands this year.
The tech giant's brand value was calculated at over US$50 billion. Its ranking dropped one notch from last year. But Samsung is still the only Asia-based brand in the top 10. Samsung has been among the top 10 for four straight years now.
Hyundai ranked 81st, its brand valued at over $9 billion, up 17 percent from the previous year.
Apple topped the list, followed by Google and Microsoft.
