Seoul's Lotte World amusement park shut down abruptly on Sunday after a customer tested positive for coronavirus.
The patient was a high school senior from Seoul who visited the park from noon to 9 p.m. on June 5 with three friends. She called the facility of her own accord to let it know that she had tested positive.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and quarantine authorities immediately closed her school in the Jungnang district, switching back to online classes until Wednesday. They are also forcing some 750 students, teachers and their contacts to get tested immediately.
Lotte World shut down at around 1 p.m. Sunday and says it will reopen on Wednesday after thorough disinfection. Quarantine authorities are tracing visitors and people who came into close contact with the infected student.
On June 5, around 2,000 people visited the amusement park and about 690 were there at the time of the student's visit.
