The front lawn of Jogye Temple in Jongno, Seoul is filled with star-shaped post-its with the New Year's wishes of visitors, a tradition all over Korea.

Some are wishes for jobs, others for prosperity, a soulmate, recovery from illness and entry to the college of choice.

A woman looks at New Year's wishes at Jogye Temple in Seoul on Dec. 30, 2019.

Increasingly, the most common wishes are less for sudden riches and more for happiness at home.
