The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed the annual National Defense Authorization Act, which mandates that the number of American troops in South Korea must stay at the current 28,500.
The bill was supported by 377 representatives and opposed by only 48. If the Senate passes it as well, U.S. President Donald Trump has tweeted that he will "immediately sign" it, even if that robs him of the negotiating card of slashing troop numbers here.
