Foreign direct investment into Korea has surpassed US$20 billion for five years in a row.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said on Monday that Korea has attracted $20.3 billion in FDI so far this year. Last year's FDI reached a record $26.9 billion.
The ministry said foreign investors have a favorable view of the Korean market despite weak investment sentiment globally.
It added that investment this year focused on high-tech products and high-end consumer goods including beauty and food products.
