South Korea has lodged an official complaint against North Korea over a "nightmarish" World Cup qualifier in an empty stadium in Pyongyang last week.
"We sent a letter of complaint to the Asian Football Confederation, stating regrets over the lack of cooperation for the match, as North Korea prevented not only media coverage of the match but also the entry of a cheer squad," said an official at the Korea Football Association on Friday. "We also asked [the AFC] to take disciplinary action against North Korea," it added.
It cited AFC regulations requiring the host country of a match to guarantee visa approval for visiting athletes, reporters and other supporters, without any discrimination.
North Korea limited its issuance of entry visas to athletes and KFA officials.
