Incheon International Airport is likely to see less congestion than in previous years this Chuseok, partly because the holiday, which starts Thursday, is unusually short.
A total of 906,156 passengers or an average of 181,233 a day are expected to pass through Incheon during the next five days, down three percent from last year.
Outbound numbers are down 10 percent to an average 90,587 a day.
The number of passengers is expected to peak at 202,714 on Sunday. Airport authorities will deploy 70 extra staff and about 370 guides to mitigate congestion.
But the 14 other airports across the country expect some 962,000 passengers on domestic flights and 307,000 on international flights during the holiday, up 2.5 percent on-year.
