Typhoon Lingling, which passed over Korea over the weekend, was the fifth most powerful storm ever to hit the country.
The government on Sunday said the storm led to three deaths and injured at least 26 people, but the number of injured could go up.
Some 160,000 households were left without power, though it has mostly been restored.
Some 36,000 buildings were damaged and vast areas of farmland affected. Rice and fruit were the worst hit just ahead of their harvest for Chuseok. More than 500 farm animals died.
