Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has been shortlisted among 54 other footballers for the Men's World 11 by FIFA's FIFPro, the International Federation of Association of Professional Footballers.
Son is the first Asian player ever to be shortlisted. The list includes five goalkeepers, 20 defenders,15 midfielders, and 15 forwards who played exceptionally this year.
Other forwards on the shortlist include Lionel Messi of Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain.
The World 11 list was started in 2005, and since 2009 has been combined with FIFA's Best 11. Voting takes into account over 45,000 professional football players in 63 member states.
The final World 11 will be announced at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Milan on Oct. 23.
