President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday arrived in Myanmar as part of a three-nation tour of Southeast Asian countries.
Moon sat down in the remote capital of Naypyidaw with de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi to discuss ways both countries can prosper together and issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula.
They also exchanged thoughts on the Rohingya issue, where Aung San Suu Kyi's denials of large-scale atrocities against the minority have turned her almost overnight from a heroine of democracy into an international pariah.
Moon will visit the commercial capital of Yangon on Wednesday to deliver a speech at a business forum there and attend the ground-breaking ceremony for an industrial complex built by the two countries.
