North Korea again fired two projectiles into the East Sea on Friday, military authorities here said. The launch came about a week after the last one and was the sixth in recent months.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff said the projectiles were fired from Tongchon in Kangwon Province. "The military is monitoring the situation in case of additional launches," said a JCS officer.

The latest missile provocation followed harsh rhetoric against South Korea earlier in the day.
North Korea dismissed President Moon Jae-in's speech the previous day as "mere rhetoric" while denouncing South Korea's ongoing joint military exercises with the U.S.
It said Pyongyang has "no intention to sit with" South Korea again for talks.
