Korea held the top spot for global shipbuilding orders for the third month in a row last month.
U.K.-based Clarkson Research Services said Tuesday that Korea won orders for 10 ships totaling 270,000 compensated gross tons in July, accounting for over half the total global output of 550,000 CGT.
Korea's top ranking came amid a dip in global shipbuilding orders, which fell by 43 percent on-year last month.
China ranked second with orders for 11 ships totaling 200,000 CGT, followed by Japan with just one vessel of 30,000 CGT.
