The U.S. roving North Korea point man Sung Kim, who is ambassador to the Philippines, is moving to Indonesia, the White House said Wednesday.
Kim took the post in Manila in November 2016.
He was instrumental in arranging the first U.S.-North Korea summit in Singapore in May of last year and fine-tuned a vacuous agreement with North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui.
Kim became head of the State Department's Korea bureau in 2006 before serving as ambassador to Seoul for three years.
Born in Seoul, he emigrated to the U.S. with his father in the mid-1970s, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and obtained a law degree at the London School of Economics.
