With the 2019 FINA World Championships set to kick off in the southwestern city of Gwangju on Friday, organizers are working to make sure the event safe and secure through its run until July 28.
Emergency drills were held on Tuesday at the main venue of the competition in preparation for terrorist attacks and other emergencies.
Meanwhile, volunteers are getting ready to provide assistance to some 2,600 athletes from 194 different countries around the world. Some 130 volunteer interpreters from the Army will also be on hand at the global sporting event.
