Speed skater Lee Seung-hoon, a two-time Olympic champion, has been suspended for a year for physically assaulting teammates.
The Korea Skating Union on Tuesday said it confirmed allegations of Lee's misconduct on several occasions based on witnesses' testimony.
Lee allegedly beat and abused younger athletes while taking part in international competitions in 2011, 2013 and 2016.
The allegations surfaced in May last year after a government audit of the union.
Lee, who has denied them, left Korea some five months later to join a Dutch speed skating club and has not participated in any domestic competition since.
