Online shopping transactions hit another record in May thanks to an increase in food delivery orders and sales of home appliances.
Statistics Korea said on Wednesday that online transactions hit W11.3 trillion in May, a rise of nearly 20 percent on-year and the highest figure since the agency began tallying the figure in 2001 (US$1=W1,170).
Food delivery orders have been on the rise amid an increase in the number of one-person households, while sales of electronic goods like air conditioners have increased as the summer has arrived.
