Samsung has sold over 1 million of its first 5G phones in just 80 days after the Galaxy S10 hit store shelves, the company said Sunday. That boils down to 12,500 of the 5G smartphones being sold every day.
The Galaxy S10 comes in two versions-- 4G and 5G. On release in April, 5G models accounted for just 20 percent of total sales, but that has risen to 70 to 80 percent now.
Sales of LG's V50 ThinQ, another 5G smartphone, totaled 280,000 since its release here on May 10 or 6,000 a day.
A wider range of 5G handsets are scheduled for release in the second half of this year. Samsung plans to roll out the Galaxy Fold next month and the Galaxy Note 10 in August. Both Samsung and LG will launch mid-priced 5G phones as well.
