Boy band Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, made a huge profit from their recent world tour in America and Europe in May and June.

Billboard on Monday estimated that the idol band earned a combined $78.9 million from over 600,000 tickets.

The U.S. pop magazine said BTS grossed $44 million from six shows in the U.S., selling 299,770 tickets. With another six shows in São Paulo, London and Paris, they earned $35 million more.

The magazine said BTS' shows at Pasadena's Rose Bowl earned $16.6 million, "making it the single highest-grossing engagement in the venue's [history], outpacing previous high marks by Taylor Swift and U2, as well as co-headlining stints by Beyoncé and Jay-Z and Eminem and Rihanna."

"These U.S. figures are not just groundbreaking as international artists, but for the touring industry at large," it added.
