The U.S.' largest electronics retailer Best Buy has canceled pre-orders for Samsung's foldable smartphone Galaxy Fold a month after Samsung postponed the launch over screen glitches.

"With breakthrough designs and technology come many hurdles and the possibility to face a plethora of unforeseen hiccups," Best Buy said Thursday. "These hurdles have led Samsung to postpone the release of the Galaxy Fold, and Samsung has not provided a new release date. Because we put our customers first and want to ensure they are taken care of in the best possible manner, Best Buy has decided to cancel all current pre-orders."

It added it is "working closely with Samsung to deliver the Galaxy Fold to customers as quickly as possible."

Best Buy has 1,007 stores across the U.S. and is one of Samsung's biggest clients, accounting for Samsung's top five sales there last year.

The phone was supposed to be released in the U.S. on April 26, but Samsung canceled the release after complaints over review models' screens. Samsung said at the time it would come back with a new release date within a few weeks but has not done so.
