It was his fifth homer of the season and the 194th of his 15-year Major League Baseball career, taking him one step closer to becoming the first Asian player to crack the 200 home run mark. The Rangers defeated the Royals 6-1.

The slugger collected his 1,500th career hit early last month. Of the 637 players who have reached the milestone, 28 including Choo are active.

Choo became the second Asian player to achieve the feat after Japan's Ichiro Suzuki, who amassed over 3,000 hits before his retirement in March.
