Eating fruit is only healthy at the right time and in the right amount since it is often high in sugar.
Eating a lot of fruit after a meal can disturb the gastric tract or send sugar levels in the blood sky-high, which can overtax the pancreas as it frantically tries to produce insulin to break the sugar down and cause diabetes.
Those who already suffer from diabetes have to be extra careful. Fructose rapidly increases blood sugar levels and may cause dyslipidemia or fatty liver.
The Korean Dietetic Association recommends a moderate amount of fruit to be eaten daily, with one portion consisting perhaps of half a persimmon, one tangerine, half a banana, one-third of an apple, and a bowlful of grapes.
Those suffering from diabetes are advised to eat fruit with low sugar level like apples and pears.
