Sales at duty-free stores hit the W2-trillion mark for the first time last month (US$1=W1,134).
According to data from the Korea Duty-Free Shops Association released Monday, duty-free sales have reached new highs every month since January.
The rise came despite China's new taxes on purchases by Chinese traders or individual vendors who resell their duty-free goods to consumers back home.
