Airlines around the world are grounding their Boeing 737 Max planes after two fatal crashes over the last four months.
Here, Korean Air and T'way Air said Thursday that they will stop their procurement of Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft until the safety issues have been resolved. Korean Air was about to buy six B737s this year and T'way four for use on short-haul international routes.
Eastar Jet, which has two Boeing 737 Max 8s, already stopped using them on flights to Japan and Thailand early this week.
Meanwhile, the U.S. and Canada, which had kept using the aircraft, belatedly joined in the grounding of the entire Max series of Boeing jetliners.
