Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, will release a new album next month. The boys' management agency Big Hit Entertainment said on Tuesday they will release "Map of the Soul: Persona" on April 12.
It comes eight months after their previous release, "Love Yourself: Answer," a repackaged version of their third full-length album, "Love Yourself: Tear," in August last year.
Pre-orders for the album started on Wednesday.
The news is attracting attention around the world as BTS have set various records for a K-pop group and grown into global superstars. They topped Billboard 200 Albums Chart twice with their "Love Yourself" album series, while "Fake Love," the lead track from their album "Love Yourself: Answer," reached the top 10 in the Hot 100 chart in last May, which ranks the most popular songs of the week.
BTS also became the first K-pop act to attend the Grammy Awards when they presented an award at this year's ceremony last month, and won the Top Social Artist award at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017 and 2018.
The band will follow the album release with a two-month world tour starting in Los Angeles in May. The tour includes concerts in Chicago, London, Osaka, São Paulo and Paris.
