Korea has 36 billionaires, ranking 14th in the world, according to the latest Hurun Global Rich List released on Sunday.
The annual list by China's wealth research firm Hurun Report lists the world's wealthiest individuals with a net worth of US$1 billion or higher.
Korea saw six new billionaires added this year, pushing its ranking up a notch from last year.
Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee is Korea's wealthiest man, ranked 66th out of 2,470 billionaires with a net worth of $16 billion.
The group's heir, Lee Jae-yong, was the next Korean on the list with $8.6 billion (184th), followed by Celltrion chairman Seo Jung-jin with $8.5 billion (189th), Smilegate founder Kwon Hyuk-bin with $6.2 billion (293rd), Nexon founder Kim Jung-ju with $5.3 billion (388th), Amore Pacific chairman Suh Kyung-bae with $4.4. billion (490th) and Hyundai Motor chairman Chung Mong-koo with $4.3 billion (512th).
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos topped the list with $147 billion.
