Nearly seven out of 10 people who commit digital sex offenses like publishing sexually explicit images on the Internet are someone the victims know.
The finding comes from a help center for victims from sexual offenses that was opened in April last year under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
The ministry on Thursday said 28,870 explicit images were deleted by staff at the center in the past eight months. Among 5,687 reported cases, 2,267, or 40 percent were revenge porn videos.
Thirty percent or 1,699 were secretly taken pictures or videos of other people's body parts or sexual activity, and 803 were threats to publish explicit images or videos. More than half of the victims experienced all of the above.
