Son Heung-min attends a press conference in Abu Dhabi in the UAE on Monday.

Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur has joined the Korean national football team in the UAE competing in the Asian Football Confederation Asian Cup.

He left London right after Spurs' match against Manchester United on Sunday and arrived in Dubai on Monday afternoon.

"I would be lying if I said I'm not tired, but I'm used to playing a match every three days. Players must be prepared at all times," Son said at a press event after joining the team in Abu Dhabi.

He indicated that he could play in Korea's third group match against China on Wednesday despite having little time to recover from his frequent starts for Spurs and travel to the UAE. He has played in 12 games for his English Premier League team in just over a month, with a break of just three to four days in between each.

"We are here to win. I hope that we will beat our opponents one by one and eventually lift the trophy," he said.

The AFC posted detailed coverage of Son's arrival in real time on its social media accounts.
