Around 100,000 cab drivers plan to rally in Seoul next week against the launch of Kakao's new ride-sharing app. One cab driver committed suicide earlier this week in protest.

Unionized taxi drivers in an emergency meeting on Tuesday vowed to hold a protest rally in Yeouido on Dec. 20.

Kakao Mobility, which hoped to launch the app on Dec. 17, has shelved the plan for now to negotiate it with cab drivers.
