A film about British rock band Queen, "Bohemian Rhapsody," has attracted more than 3 million viewers since its release here on Oct. 31.
The Korean Film Council said Wednesday some 3.4 million people watched the film as of Tuesday in 1,109 cinemas across the nation.
"Bohemian Rhapsody" is on track to become the most successful music film released in Korea as it is expected to outperform "La La Land" with 3.59 million viewers and "Begin Again" with 3.42 million viewers.
Strong word-of-mouth is keeping the film at the top of the box office despite new blockbuster releases including the Harry Potter spin-off "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald."
"Bohemian Rhapsody" tells the story of how Queen and its front man Freddie Mercury went from being outsiders to music legends.
