President Moon Jae-in's newly appointed presidential policy adviser Kim Soo-hyun says he will be working hand-in-hand with Finance Minister nominee Hong Nam-ki should Hong be confirmed.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Kim said Hong will be in charge of managing economic issues and added he will continue to advance the foundation laid by their predecessors, who pursued income-led growth and a fair distribution of wealth.

Hong echoed Kim's remarks, saying the government will do all it can to improve people's livelihoods and push for structural reforms that stimulate income-led growth.

The latest reshuffle reflects Moon's determination to stick to his policies, despite criticism, led by outgoing Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon and former presidential policy adviser Jang Ha-sung, who had drifted apart over key economic policies.
