U.S. Forces Korea Welcomes New Commander

      Gen. Robert Abrams on Thursday took over as commander of U.S. Forces Korea in a ceremony held at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, replacing Gen. Vincent Brooks.

      Abrams said the UN Command, Combined Forces Command and USFK "are critically important for our shared interests in the defense of the Korean Peninsula and the security of the region."

      He also stressed the need for a strong "fight tonight" readiness among soldiers.
