Mercedes-Benz has expanded its research and development center in Seoul.
The carmaker has more than doubled the size of the center and will recruit more than 40 researchers by the end of this year to develop self-driving cars and other technologies.
The center "has served a key role in developing Mercedes-Benz vehicles by conducting diverse research and development with outstanding local partners in Korea," said Dimitris Psillakis, the head of Mercedes' Korean operation.
"Through the expansion of the center, it is expected that our role as a research and development hub in Asia will be strengthened... and we will continue our contribution to Korean society," he added.
