Stephen Biegun, the U.S. special representative for North Korea, arrived in Seoul on Sunday for talks with his South Korean counterpart about ongoing diplomatic efforts toward North Korea.
Biegun's trip comes a week after Seoul's chief nuclear negotiator Lee Do-hoon visited Washington.
Biegun is expected to discuss with Lee progress in relation to the North's denuclearization and preparatory talks for a summit between the U.S. and the North.
Also likely to be on their agenda is the possible exemption of inter-Korean projects such as building railroad links and forestation from sanctions against the North.
