The last thing dementia patients want to forget is memories of their family, especially their children, a survey shows.
Pharmaceutical company Handok asked 373 dementia patients at community health centers in 25 districts of Seoul what memory they wish to retain the most.
Some 66 percent said memories of their family members are the most cherished. Next were memories of their own lives (12.5 percent), their home towns (3.5 percent) and friends (3.2 percent).
Among memories of their family, 38 percent want to cherish memories of their children the most, followed by their family (28 percent), spouse (12.3 percent), parents (12 percent) and grandchildren (7.4 percent).
