Korean golfer Park Sung-hyun and Thai golfer Ariya Jutanugarn will compete at the Evian Championship, the last major event on the LPGA tour this season.

The event may decide who will rise to the top of women's golf as the season is wrapping up. Park is currently No.1 in the world, and Jutanugarn is leading the player of the year race.

Both have won three titles each so far in the season including one major -- the KPMG Women's PGA Championship for Park and the U.S. Women's Open for Jutanugarn.

Park and Jutanugarn are paired together with Georgia Hall of England in the first two rounds of the event. The Evian Championship opens in Évian-les-Bains, France on Thursday.

In the current standings, Park is closely trailing her rival. She is third on the money list and second on the player of the year list. Jutanugarn is at the top of the money, player of the year and average stroke lists.

If Park wins the championship, which carries a lot of points in the money category, she will keep her hopes alive of topping the money list and being named player of the year for a second year in a row.

Park In-bee, who has yet to win a victory at a major event this season, will compete in the tournament. Ryu So-yeon will also take part. The two are in the same group as Pernilla Lindberg of Sweden, who won the season's first major, the ANA Inspiration.
