Korea Adds More Gold Medals in Taekwondo, Fencing at Asian Games

    Kim Tae-hun won a gold medal in the men's 58-kg taekwondo competition at the Asian Games in Indonesia on Monday.

    Kim beat Niyaz Pulatov of Uzbekistan 24-6 in the final to claim his second consecutive Asiad gold medal, following his win in the men's 54-kg category four years ago at the Asian Games in Incheon.

    But Ha Min-ah had to be content with a silver medal in the women's 53-kg category, losing the final to Poya Su of Taiwan.

    In the women's 67-kg category, Kim Jan-di also missed out on a gold medal after losing the final to Julyana Al Sadeq of Jordan.

    Meanwhile, Jeon Hee-sook defended her title in the women's individual foil to claim Korea's first gold medal in fencing at this year's Asian Games.

    In the men's individual sabre, two Korean fencers, Gu Bon-gil and Oh Sang-uk, competed in the final, with Gu winning his third consecutive Asiad gold medal.

    Korea also added two silver medals and one bronze medal in shooting on Monday.
