A unified Korean team won the gold medal in the mixed doubles at the Korea Open in Daejeon on Saturday.
South Korea's Jang Woo-jin and North Korea's Cha Hyo-sim beat China 3-1.
Jang described the match as one of the most memorable game of his career. He expressed his appreciation to the North Korean players and staff, saying the team members had established a deep trust in each other in a short period of time.
South Korean Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon, who attended the match, praised Jang and Cha for playing so well although they didn't have much time to practice together. He said the spirit they showed would contribute to an improvement in inter-Korean relations.
